Men's Mental Health Week 2020

This year "Hope Assistance Local Tradies" (HALT) & "Inglewood District Health Services" (IDHS) combined forces to bring Men's Mental Health to the forefront in local sport Lets talk about mental health posterwithin the Loddon region. Due to COVID-19 the community has missed local sport, which gives people the opportunity to de-stress, socialise and have a laugh.

Check out thisYouTube video LINK on "how to look out for your mates and have the tough conversations" made in conjuction with IDHS, HALT, Wedderburn College, Sargent Zac Bull and local sporting club members.

If you or a mate are struggling and feel you may need some support to get through, It is important to reach out to Inglewood and Districts Health Service, HALT, any of the listed organisations below or one the The Loddon Healthy Minds member agencies which are linked to their organisations logo's along the bottom of the webpage below.

Much appreciated sponsorship and support has been donated by Ride4Life which we greatly appreciate for our SPF20.

Ride4Life are active in bringing motorcycle riders together to promote awareness of Mental Health Issues and Suicide Prevention. Rides are organised to many destinations across the country where these messages are shared with communities. Ride4Life also raises money that is in turn donated to specific projects with Mental Health organisations. We do not donate directly to these organisations where money could end up in admin areas. It must be used on a frontline project. All members of Ride4Life are volunteers. We have no paid staff, so every dollar raised goes towards the cause.

We would also like to thank the Mental Health Foundation Australia as a supporting agency to this forum

HALT Community Wellbeing Walk 2020

HALT

The HALT Community Wellbeing Walk is a 6-day fundraising walk from Monday the 30th of March to Saturday the 4th of April 2020, incorporating 160km of the Goldfields track from Mt Buninyong (just outside of Ballarat) to Bendigo. This walk is a major fundraiser event for HALT and we are aiming to raise $20,000. Registrations are now open, with a registration fee of $200.

Starting from Bendigo, we’ll walk through old Goldfields towns including Mt Buninyong, Ballarat, Creswick, Daylesford, Fryerstown and finish at Harcourt. Across the 5 nights, our intrepid HALT walkers will be billeted in houses to ensure we are well-rested for the following day’s walk. The HALT walkers will be required to carry a medium-sized pack with sufficient water, fruit, nuts and first aid kit for each day’s walk, but there will also be a support vehicle close by at all times and lunch will be provided.

Those hardy and brave souls that agree to partake in this walk will also be required to individually raise money for HALT. We are asking people to aim high and set themselves the challenge of raising a minimum of $1,000.

Where will all the money that is raised go?

HALT is all about grassroots community connection, so that’s where the money will go:

HALT events and speaking presentations
HALT suicide prevention training (45 minutes)
safeTALK training (3-4 hours)
(These three options will be offered to the towns we are hiking through or near.)
We would love to have you come along with us on HALT’s 2nd Annual Community Wellbeing Walk!
